The default humanoid of the moment, and the only full-featured machine that a well-funded individual can order without a procurement department. It walks, runs, gets up off the floor and has more third-party code written for it than anything else on this list. The catch is the configuration ladder: the $13,500 machine cannot run your own code, and the version that can starts at $43,900. - AgiBot A2 (AgiBot): $44,560, in stock, score 68/100, sold by AgiBot. The Yuanzheng A2 family is AgiBot's production line, covering a bipedal interaction robot, a wheeled industrial model, a heavy-duty model and a data-collection model. A2 holds the Guinness record for the longest walk by a humanoid robot. - Unitree R1 (Unitree Robotics): $4,900 to $5,900, in stock, score 64/100, sold by Unitree. The cheapest legged humanoid from a maker that ships in volume. At $4,900 it undercuts every serious competitor by thousands, and it exists because Unitree stripped out the things that make the G1 expensive. Treat it as a locomotion platform you can afford to break. - Dobot Atom (Dobot): $27,500, preorder, score 61/100, sold by Dobot. Dobot has spent a decade selling robot arms to schools and small factories, and Atom is that experience applied to a humanoid. At $27,500 on preorder it is priced sensibly, and the company knows how to ship a product. - NEO (1X Technologies): $20,000, preorder, score 59/100, sold by 1X Technologies. The clearest consumer offer anyone has made: $20,000 outright or $499 a month, with a delivery window rather than a someday. What you are buying in the first year is partly a remote human operator, and 1X has been unusually honest about that. Whether that is a robot or a very expensive telepresence rig depends on how the autonomy lands. - Z-Bot (K-Scale Labs): $999, preorder, score 59/100, sold by K-Scale Labs. $999 for an open-source developer robot from a company that publishes everything. It is small and it is early, and it is one of the only Western options at any price under $3,000. - Hiwonder TonyPi Pro (Hiwonder): $789, in stock, score 56/100, sold by Hiwonder. The classroom workhorse. A Raspberry Pi 5, eighteen bus servos, and course material that has already been taught to thousands of students. Nobody is doing frontier research on a TonyPi, and that is not the point. - Noetix Bumi (Noetix Robotics): $1,400, preorder, score 52/100, sold by Noetix. Bumi is a 94 cm, 12 kg humanoid priced under CNY 10,000, positioned by Noetix as a consumer and education robot. - Noetix N2 (Noetix Robotics): $5,500 to $8,400, in stock, score 52/100, sold by Noetix. A sub-$10,000 biped that walks well outdoors, from a company that keeps shipping. It is the most interesting machine in the gap between the toys and the $15,000 research platforms, and the least known of the group. - AgiBot Lingxi X2 (AgiBot): $24,240, in stock, score 51/100, sold by AgiBot. AgiBot sells this one off a page rather than through a sales process, which is rare at $24,240. The Lingxi line is the company's compact platform and it has shipped in volume at home in China. Getting one outside China means freight and patience. - Fourier N1 (Fourier): $40,000, in stock, score 51/100, sold by Robotopian. Fourier's research platform, available through distributors at around $40,000. It sits between the G1 EDU and the full-size machines, and Fourier's medical rehabilitation background shows in the actuator quality. - Robosen K1 Pro (Robosen Robotics): $299, in stock, score 50/100, sold by Robosen. The K1 Pro is a programmable walking toy robot with 17 servos and app-based coding. It is the cheapest thing in this catalogue that walks on two legs unaided, and it is a toy, sold as one. - Booster T1 (Booster Robotics): $29,800 to $50,925, in stock, score 49/100, sold by Booster Robotics and distributors. Built for developers and it shows: a RoboCup-winning platform with real documentation and a distributor network that will actually answer email. You pay for that. At $29,800 for the basic build it costs more than twice a G1, and the gap is support and access rather than raw capability. - HopeJR (Hugging Face): $3,000, preorder, score 46/100, sold by Hugging Face. Not a robot so much as a pair of very capable open-source arms and hands you assemble yourself. At $3,000 it is the cheapest serious route into teleoperated manipulation research. - Unitree H2 (Unitree Robotics): $29,900, preorder, score 45/100, sold by Unitree. A list price with no buy button. Unitree has quoted $29,900 for a full-size machine that would undercut everything at that scale, and that is worth watching, but you cannot order it. Treat the number as a statement of intent. - Booster K1 (Booster Robotics): $5,999 to $12,500, in stock, score 43/100, sold by Booster Robotics and distributors. K1 is Booster's entry-level education humanoid, under one metre tall and about 15 kg. - EngineAI PM01 (EngineAI): $13,700, in stock, score 42/100, sold by EngineAI. EngineAI made its name with a robot that did a front flip, and the PM01 is the machine most people can actually buy. At $13,700 it is priced against the G1 and it moves better than the price suggests. Everything else about ownership is harder. - Reachy Mini (Pollen Robotics): $299 to $449, preorder, score 41/100, sold by Hugging Face. $299 for something that is honestly not a humanoid, and the best value on this entire site anyway. It is the cheapest legitimate door into the open embodied-AI stack that runs on machines a hundred times the price, and everything you learn on it transfers. - UBTech Alpha series (UBTech Robotics): $499, in stock, score 41/100, sold by UBTech. The Alpha series of 40 cm hobby humanoids built UBTech's early business and funded its later full-size Walker program. Alpha 1S robots performed on the 2016 Spring Festival Gala. - LimX TRON 1 (LimX Dynamics): $15,000, in stock, score 40/100, sold by LimX Dynamics. A compact research biped at $15,000 from a company with real robotics pedigree. It is deliberately small, which makes it one of the few machines a single person can carry to a test site. - Weave Isaac 1 (Weave Robotics): $7,999, preorder, score 40/100, sold by Weave Robotics. The most interesting thing about Isaac is what it gives up. No legs, no full-size torso, no attempt at a general-purpose humanoid. It rolls, it has two arms, it folds your laundry, and it costs $7,999 because of everything it does not try to be. That is a far more credible 2026 home robot than most of the bipeds twice its price. - Hiwonder Tonybot (Hiwonder): $459, in stock, score 39/100, sold by Hiwonder. Tonybot is Hiwonder's entry-level Arduino humanoid kit, expandable with dot-matrix displays, buzzers and ultrasonic sensors. The cheapest functional build-it-yourself humanoid from an established supplier. - Reachy 2 (Pollen Robotics): $70,000 to $75,000, in stock, score 39/100, sold by Pollen Robotics, part of Hugging Face. The only humanoid at this price where you get the whole stack: hardware designs, software, and a company inside Hugging Face that has staked its reputation on keeping it open. Reachy 2 does not walk, and for a research group that is often fine. What it buys you is the freedom to change anything. - ROBOTIS MINI (Robotis): $539, in stock, score 38/100, sold by RobotShop and Amazon. Twenty-seven centimetres of DYNAMIXEL servos and block coding. It is the safest way to put a walking humanoid in front of a twelve year old, and it plugs into the same ecosystem as ROBOTIS machines used in serious labs. - PNDbotics Adam (PNDbotics): No public price, in stock, score 37/100, sold by Robotopian and PNDbotics. The hydraulic Atlas was unveiled in July 2013 for the DARPA Robotics Challenge and became the best-known research humanoid of the 2010s through its parkour and backflip videos. Later versions were 150 cm tall, 89 kg and had 28 hydraulic joints. Boston Dynamics retired it in April 2024. - [ATRIAS](https://humanoid.observer/robots/atrias/): Oregon State University, retired. ATRIAS was a bipedal robot built at Oregon State University's Dynamic Robotics Laboratory under Jonathan Hurst to test the spring mass model of walking and running. It is not a full humanoid but its legs and controllers led directly to Agility Robotics' Cassie and Digit. It walked and ran outdoors and survived kicks and thrown balls. - [Berkeley Humanoid](https://humanoid.observer/robots/berkeley-humanoid/): University of California, Berkeley, research, 85 cm. Berkeley Humanoid is a mid sized, low cost bipedal research robot from UC Berkeley's Hybrid Robotics Lab, presented in a July 2024 paper as a reliable platform for learning based control. It was designed to be built and repaired by a small team and to survive many falls. Berkeley Humanoid Lite is a fully open source, 3D printed, mid sized humanoid from UC Berkeley intended to make humanoid research accessible. All hardware, firmware, simulation and training code are public and the parts cost under 5,000 dollars. Calvin-40 is Wandercraft's first humanoid, built in 40 days in 2025 by reusing the actuators and balance control of its self-balancing exoskeletons. Cassie was a legs-only bipedal robot derived from Oregon State University's ATRIAS research and sold by Agility Robotics to universities from 2017. Its ostrich-like legs became a common platform for reinforcement learning locomotion research. DARwIn-OP (Dynamic Anthropomorphic Robot with Intelligence, Open Platform) is a 45 cm open hardware and open software humanoid developed by Virginia Tech's RoMeLa lab with Purdue, Penn and Robotis under a US National Science Foundation grant. Released in late 2010, it became the standard kid size platform in RoboCup and in university teaching. Ginger (XR-1) was the wheeled service humanoid of CloudMinds, later renamed Dataa Robotics, one of the earliest Chinese humanoids used commercially. Its cloud-brain approach predates the current wave. - [Dexter](https://humanoid.observer/robots/dexter/): Anybots, retired. Dexter was a pneumatically actuated, dynamically balancing bipedal robot built by Anybots, a Silicon Valley startup founded by Trevor Blackwell. Its 2007 videos of a robot balancing and jumping without static walking were an early demonstration of learning based balance. The 2023 Digit added a head, improved hands and a taller frame, and is the version Agility Robotics sells as a service for moving totes in warehouses. Digit added a torso, arms and perception to the Cassie legs and was first shown in February 2019. Ford bought the first two units in 2020 for last-mile delivery research, and v2 and v3 added better perception and hands-free manipulation of totes. Elektro was a 2.1 meter aluminium humanoid built by Westinghouse for the 1939 New York World's Fair.
