Addverb Technologies

Addverb Technologies was founded in 2016 in Noida, on the outskirts of Delhi, as a warehouse automation company. It sells mobile robots, sorters, shuttle systems and the software to run them; its own site claims more than 350 clients and over 500 automated warehouses. In January 2022 Reliance Retail Ventures bought a 54 percent stake for USD 132 million, valuing the company at USD 270 million, so Addverb is effectively a Reliance subsidiary with a minority of founder and early-investor holdings. Sangeet Kumar is CEO and co-founder.

The humanoid is a recent add-on to that core business. In November 2024 Kumar told Indian media that Addverb would launch a humanoid in 2025, built with Reliance's Jio for connectivity and AI, aimed at healthcare, defence, retail and energy work, and that the company was looking at both legged and wheeled forms. On 31 January 2025 Addverb published a press release describing the unveiling of what it called India's first humanoid.

What has been shown so far is a prototype described in terms of intended capabilities rather than field results. Addverb has published no customer deployment, unit count or price for the humanoid. The company page states a headcount of more than 1,000 people, most of them working on conventional intralogistics automation, which is where its revenue comes from.
