What the record says.

Astribot is the product brand of Stardust Intelligence, registered in Shenzhen as Astribot Artificial Intelligence Technology Co. and founded in 2022 by Lai Jie, a roboticist who had worked at Tencent's Robotics X lab, at Baidu's Xiaodu robot unit and at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. An early Pre-A round of tens of millions of dollars was led by Matrix Partners China.

The company became known in 2024 through videos of its S1, a wheeled robot with cable-driven arms, folding laundry, pouring drinks and flipping food at speed; it was shown in public at the World Robot Conference in Beijing in August 2024. Much of the footage is teleoperated or scripted and independent verification has been thin. In 2025 the company released its own Lumo-1 reasoning model and a DuoCore fast-slow control system, and said the S1 entered limited commercial availability late that year.

In June 2026 36Kr reported a Series B of over CNY 1 billion at a valuation above CNY 10 billion, with Bohua Capital, Thundersoft and Guoke Investment among the backers. The company said its cheaper T1 model, priced from CNY 89,900, began deliveries in the thousands at the end of 2025 and that Thundersoft had placed a thousand-unit order for industrial and commercial service use. Those figures are the company's own and unconfirmed.
