CASBOT

CASBOT is the brand of Beijing Zhongke Huiling Robot Technology, a company registered in Beijing in August 2023 according to 36Kr. The 'Zhongke' in its name and the CAS in its branding point to a link with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the company says its core team comes from CAS, Tsinghua and the Beijing Institute of Technology, but neither its website nor the funding coverage spells out a formal spin-out arrangement. Zhang Miao is named as COO; the founder has not been identified in the sources used here.

Its first full-size biped, CASBOT 01, nicknamed Wednesday, was launched in November 2024 with a claimed 52 degrees of freedom and over four hours of battery life. A CASBOT 02 aimed at exhibitions, museums, malls and car dealerships and a wheeled W1 are listed on the company site as of 2026.

In February 2025 the company announced an angel round of more than 100 million yuan from Lenovo Ventures, the state-backed China Investment Innovation Fund and a Henan asset fund, with plans to start mass production and deliveries during 2025. No delivery numbers, revenue or headcount have been published, so the scale of actual use is unknown.
