Profile

What the record says.

Field AI, written FieldAI by the company, was founded in 2023 in Irvine, California, by Ali Agha, who says he spent decades on autonomy at NASA and MIT. It builds no hardware. Its products are Field Foundation Models, embodied AI models it says are rooted in physics and built around a belief world model that tracks risk, and EDGE, a robot brain that runs on the machine rather than in the cloud. The pitch is one brain for any machine, from quadrupeds and wheeled platforms to humanoids.

On 20 August 2025 the company disclosed USD 405 million raised across two previously unannounced rounds, the larger a USD 314 million round co-led by Bezos Expeditions, Prysm Capital and Temasek, with Khosla Ventures, Intel Capital, Canaan, NVentures and Emerson Collective, and earlier backers Gates Frontier and Samsung reinvesting. Reports put the valuation at USD 2 billion. Agha said it had added over 100 jobs and planned to double headcount by year end.

Field AI says its software is deployed at customer sites in energy, manufacturing, construction, security and inspection across the United States, Japan, Europe, Singapore and Dubai, and in 2026 announced work with Big-D Construction and Caterpillar. Customer names and unit counts for humanoid deployments are undisclosed; most of its field record so far is on quadrupeds and wheeled robots.
