Keenon Robotics

Keenon Robotics was founded in Shanghai in 2010 by Li Tong, formerly of Microsoft, and spent its first decade on wheeled service robots: DINERBOT and BUTLERBOT delivery machines for restaurants and hotels, and KLEENBOT cleaners. A USD 200 million Series D in September 2021, led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, CICC Alpha and Prosperity7, took total funding to USD 244 million. By 2025 the company said it had sold over 100,000 robots worldwide and cited IDC data giving it close to 23 percent of the global commercial service robot market. It remains private; a much-discussed Hong Kong listing had not been confirmed as filed by September 2026.

Humanoids arrived late and cautiously. The XMAN-R1 was announced in April 2025 as an interaction platform, and two XMAN-F1 bipeds were shown serving drinks and handling food at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai in July 2025. Li Tong told the South China Morning Post the company did not expect to build an all-purpose robot and that humanoid use would grow task by task.

On 28 May 2026 Keenon unveiled the XMAN-L1, a 136 cm humanoid with 42 degrees of freedom and Doubao and Tencent language models, pitched at reception, guidance and entertainment. No prices, customers or shipment figures for any XMAN model have been published.
