Mentee Robotics

Mentee Robotics was founded in Herzliya, Israel in 2022 by Amnon Shashua, the Mobileye founder who chaired it, Lior Wolf, who became CEO, and Shai Shalev-Shwartz as chief scientist. It came out of stealth in 2024 with a first Menteebot prototype and showed a production-intent V3 version in January 2025. The design choice that sets it apart is camera-only sensing and in-house electric motors, with training done largely in simulation through what the company calls a Real2Sim2Real pipeline.

Nothing has been sold. Mobileye's announcement in January 2026 said the first on-site proof-of-concept deployments with customers were expected in 2026, with an experimental manufacturing batch in 2027 and series production and commercial deployment targeted for 2028, and a home version only around the end of the decade.

On 7 January 2026 Mobileye agreed to buy the company for about 900 million US dollars, roughly 612 million in cash plus up to 26.2 million Mobileye Class A shares, with closing expected in the first quarter of 2026. Because Shashua leads both companies, the deal was handled by a committee of independent directors and Intel, Mobileye's largest shareholder, and he abstained. Mentee now trades as Mentee by Mobileye. Its pre-acquisition funding and headcount were not disclosed.
