What the record says.

Enchanted Tools was set up in Paris in 2021 by Jerome Monceaux, co-founder of Aldebaran and one of the people behind Nao and Pepper, together with Samuel Benveniste. The idea is a robot that behaves like an animated character rather than a machine, aimed at hospitals and care homes. According to motor supplier maxon it raised EUR 15 million in seed funding and hired about 50 engineers to build the prototype.

The product is Mirokai, sold as two characters, Miroki and Miroka: 123 cm tall, long-eared, balancing on a single ball, with two arms and a 3 kg payload, made in France. First shown in 2023, the robot was re-engineered for CES in January 2025, with new shells, smaller arms, a fall-prevention ring and voice activation. Early testing took place at AP-HP's Broca geriatric hospital in Paris and at the Montpellier Cancer Institute, where the robot walks children into radiotherapy rooms.

The company's own site now lists paying deployments: a nursing home in mid 2025, Lyon-Saint Exupery airport in late 2025, and US care sites in Evanston and San Jose in January 2026. Earlier talk of 200 to 300 units in 2025 has not been backed by published numbers, and Enchanted Tools does not disclose revenue or its current headcount.
