What the record says.
Leju (Shenzhen) Robotics Technology was founded in 2016 by Leng Xiaokun, a Harbin Institute of Technology PhD, together with fellow alumni who moved south to Shenzhen. The full-size Kuavo line was unveiled in December 2023 and has moved through Kuavo 3 (2023), Kuavo 4 and 4 Pro (2024) and Kuavo 5 and the wheeled 5-W (2025). The company says over 90 percent of components are Chinese-made and it sits in Huawei's orbit.
Sales figures come from the IPO prospectus. Leju sold 32 full-size Kuavo units in 2024 and 577 in 2025; revenue was CNY 54 million in 2023, CNY 56 million in 2024 and CNY 258 million in 2025, with net losses of CNY 41.1 million, CNY 59.2 million and CNY 69.8 million respectively. Omdia and Counterpoint both ranked it fourth worldwide by 2025 shipments. A Foshan plant with partner Dongfang Precision opened in March 2026 with a stated capacity of about 10,000 robots a year, far above current volume.
Bloomberg reported a USD 200 million raise in October 2025. On 19 May 2026 Leju filed for a listing on the Shenzhen ChiNext board seeking CNY 2.6 billion; Tencent holds 7.32 percent via a subsidiary and Huawei's Hubble fund is also a shareholder. The company is still loss-making.
