What the record says.
Skild AI was founded in Pittsburgh in 2023 by Deepak Pathak, its CEO, and Abhinav Gupta, its president, both Carnegie Mellon professors known for self-supervised and adaptive robot learning. It builds no robots. Its product is the Skild Brain, a single control model it calls omni-bodied, meant to run humanoids, arms, quadrupeds and wheeled platforms without retraining for each body. It was shown in July 2025 picking up dishes and climbing stairs; LG CNS and Hewlett Packard Enterprise are named partners.
Three large rounds came inside eighteen months. A USD 300 million Series A in July 2024 valued the company at USD 1.5 billion. A USD 500 million Series B led by SoftBank in May 2025, with LG Technology Ventures, Samsung and Nvidia, took it to USD 4.7 billion. On 15 January 2026 a USD 1.4 billion Series C led by SoftBank, with NVentures, Bezos Expeditions, Sequoia, Coatue and strategic money from Samsung, LG, Schneider Electric and Salesforce, valued it above USD 14 billion. Total funding passed USD 2 billion.
The company says the model is deployed in security, inspection, delivery, warehousing, manufacturing, data centres and construction, and The Robot Report cited roughly USD 30 million of revenue in 2025. Customers and robot counts are undisclosed, so the gap between valuation and verifiable revenue is large.
