Hexagon AB (Hexagon Robotics)

Hexagon AB is a Stockholm-listed industrial measurement and software group (Nasdaq Stockholm: HEXA B) with roots in a 1970 holding company. Wikipedia gives 2025 revenue of EUR 3.7 billion and about 24,000 employees. Long-time CEO Ola Rollen is now chairman and Anders Svensson became CEO in July 2025; in September 2025 the group agreed to sell its design and engineering software business, including MSC Software, to Cadence for EUR 2.7 billion.

Robotics is a new division, led by president Arnaud Robert. Its humanoid, AEON, was unveiled on 17 June 2025 at HxGN LIVE in Las Vegas. It walks on legs that end in wheels, swaps its own batteries and carries Hexagon's metrology sensors, with Nvidia Isaac GR00T models, Microsoft Azure and maxon actuators supplied by partners. The pitch is machine tending, part inspection and reality capture in factories rather than general-purpose labour.

The first pilots were with bearing maker Schaeffler and Swiss aircraft builder Pilatus in 2025. On 22 April 2026 Hexagon and Schaeffler said the pilot had been completed and that Schaeffler intends to deploy at least 1,000 AEON units across its plants by 2032, while supplying its own actuators to the robot. That is a plan, not a purchase order, and no delivered unit count or price has been published.
