What the record says.
Unitree Robotics (Hangzhou Yushu Technology) was founded in Hangzhou in 2016 by Wang Xingxing. Its business for years was quadrupeds, and that volume gave it the actuators, supply chain and pricing that later made its humanoids cheap. The H1 biped came in 2023, followed by the smaller G1, the R1 and the H2, each priced well below Western competitors.
The prospectus filed for its Shanghai listing is the only audited look at a Chinese humanoid maker. Revenue rose from CNY 392.77 million in 2024 to CNY 1.70 billion in 2025, with net profit of CNY 278.21 million in 2025 and more than 5,000 humanoid units shipped that year. Overseas sales were about 44 percent of main-business revenue, including 18 percent from the United States, a market closed to it after the FCC added foreign-made humanoid and quadruped robots to its Covered List in July 2026. Pre-IPO investors included Tencent, Alibaba, Ant Group, DeepSeek and state-backed funds.
Unitree listed on the STAR Market on 19 August 2026 at CNY 150.8 a share, raising about CNY 6.1 billion (USD 905 million). The stock closed its first day at CNY 845, up more than 460 percent, for a market value that press reports put at USD 50 billion to 66 billion, against USD 9 billion at the IPO price.

Unitree G1
G1 is Unitree's compact humanoid, announced in May 2024 at USD 16,000 and now listed at USD 13,500. Its low price and open SDK made it the default research and education humanoid worldwide. Read the configuration carefully: the standard machine does not support your own code, and the EDU version that does starts at USD 43,900.
Unitree H1
H1 is Unitree's first full-size humanoid, revealed in August 2023. It set a walking speed of 3.3 m/s and performed the first standing backflip by a full-size electric humanoid in March 2024. Sixteen H1 units danced on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala in January 2025.
Unitree H1-2
H1-2 is the second iteration of the full-size H1 line with 27 degrees of freedom (six per leg, seven per arm, one waist joint) and support for dexterous hands. It is mainly a research platform.
Unitree H2
H2 is Unitree's third full-size humanoid, revealed in October 2025 with 31 degrees of freedom, 180 cm height and 70 kg weight. It is positioned as a general-purpose and entertainment platform.
Unitree R1
R1 is Unitree's low-cost humanoid, launched in July 2025 at CNY 39,900. At roughly a third of the G1 price it pushed the entry price for a walking humanoid below USD 6,000.

Unitree files for a listing on Shanghai's STAR Market
Unitree, after completing pre listing tutoring with CITIC Securities, files for an initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange STAR Market. It is the first pure play humanoid maker to seek a public listing in China.
First World Humanoid Robot Games open in Beijing
Around 280 teams from 16 countries compete in the National Speed Skating Oval in athletics, football, dance and applied tasks such as medicine sorting and hotel cleaning. Unitree robots win most track events, including the 1500 m in 6 minutes 34 seconds, while frequent falls show the state of the art.
Unitree shows H2, a 180 cm humanoid with a human proportioned body
Unitree teases H2, a 70 kg humanoid with 31 degrees of freedom and a more anthropomorphic shape than H1, in a dance video. The company also begins preparing a domestic stock listing.
Unitree announces R1 for 5,900 dollars
The 121 cm, 25 kg R1 is priced at 39,900 yuan, the cheapest full body humanoid on the market, and aimed at developers and education. It reinforces Unitree's position as the volume leader.
First humanoid robot boxing tournament in Hangzhou
Four teleoperated Unitree G1 robots box in the CMG World Robot Competition Mecha Fighting Series, broadcast by state television. The event starts a series of combat competitions used as marketing for Chinese humanoids.
A Unitree H1 lunges toward spectators at a lantern festival in Tianjin
Video shows an H1 performing at a festival suddenly stumbling and jerking toward the crowd barrier before handlers pull it back. Organisers say a program failure was the cause; nobody is hurt, but the clip becomes the reference case for humanoid safety in crowds.
